Hello and welcome! My name is Philile Mahlalela and I am so excited to be your child’s online tutor. I have a deep passion for teaching young learners from Grade R to Grade 7. These are the most important years for building confidence, curiosity, and a love for learning. My goal is to make every lesson a safe, fun, and encouraging space where your child feels proud to ask questions and try new things. I specialize in English and Mathematics. In English, we will work on reading, writing, grammar, spelling, comprehension, and speaking with confidence. I use stories, games, and pictures to make words come alive. For Mathematics, we will build strong foundations with numbers, addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, and problem solving. I break big problems into small steps so that maths feels less scary and more like a puzzle we can solve together. Every child learns differently, and that is what makes teaching so special. Some learners need more time, some learn best with visuals, and some need lots of practice. I adapt my lessons to fit your child’s pace and learning style. I am patient, kind, and I celebrate every small win. Mistakes are welcome in my classroom because that is how we learn and grow. I have experience working with children of different ages and backgrounds. I understand that Grade R learners need lots of play, songs, and movement, while Grade 7 learners need more structure and preparation for high school. No matter the grade, my focus is always on building understanding first, not just memorizing answers. As a tutor, I believe in clear communication with parents too. I will give you regular feedback on progress, strengths, and areas we can work on together. I want us to be a team supporting your child. My lessons are interactive and engaging. We will use whiteboards, drawing, stories, and real-life examples to make concepts stick. I also make sure to include fun breaks and positive encouragement so that children stay motivated and excited to come back to class. Above all, I want your child to feel capable and confident.
