Hi, I’m Maureen Gómez. I’ve been teaching private English and Spanish lessons for over 20 years. During this time, I’ve created a course that covers 23 specific points, including grammar and expression (with a communicative approach). The duration of the course is on average between 3 to 6 months, depending on how many hours you take per week — anywhere from 2 to 5 hours weekly. Obviously, the more hours you take, the faster you’ll learn the language. The methodology I use starts with sentence building, where I teach you the different verb tenses and moods you can use to communicate in English. After just a few classes, we also begin working on expression — in other words, I teach you how to express yourself and think in English and Spanish, considering the unique style every language has when constructing speech. To give you an idea of how long it may take you to learn the language, here’s a reference chart: 2 hours per week = You’ll learn in approx. 5 to 6 months 3 hours per week = You’ll learn in approx. 4 to 5 months 4 hours per week = You’ll learn in approx. 3 to 4 months 5 hours per week = You’ll learn in approx. 2 to 3 months The grammar content itself takes about 20 hours to cover. After that comes the practice phase, where you can choose the topics you want to work on. You can also decide whether to keep the same frequency, increase it, or lower it.
