About Me A qualified teacher by profession, I have also worked as a news writer/translator/editor for Botswana's state radio station as well as written and proofread for a couple of reputable publications in Botswana. Since 2013, I have worked remotely offering clients (including indie authors) all over the world remote translation/proofreading/editing services. I love reading, clothes shopping, watching documentaries, travelling and meeting people from all over the world and different cultures. I enjoy music immensely and have an eclectic taste in music. I also have a fascination for languages - I took French as a minor at university and worked as an au pair in Italy in 2000. Me as a Teacher I am a qualified English as a Second Language teacher (PGDE) and have a BA Humanities degree (English major). I love teaching and enjoy interacting with people of varying ages from all walks of life. I have taught both English Language and Business English to people of varying ages. I currently offer private lessons to students who need remedial English lessons. These are usually more conversational than strictly academic. The people I have taught range from the very young to adults. CHILDREN I can only take a small number of very young learners at a time. Right now, I'm comfortable with the four I already have and won't be accepting any new young learner until I part ways with the current ones. But please feel free to send me an enquiry before booking a trial lesson for children. My Lessons & Teaching Style I’m approachable, patient and friendly but equally as passionate and results-driven. My lessons are student-led in the sense that I work with my students to determine the areas they want to work on. Once we know this, I set about finding the best ways through which to help them acquire their goals. I feel strongly that my teaching experience and the fact that I’m a qualified English as a Second language teacher (PGDE) and hold a BA Humanities degree in English Linguistics hold me in good stead. From previously learning Italian and French, I also understand the challenges of learning a foreign language. I must hasten to stress I don’t speak either language fluently! Whether you need help with reading, writing or speaking, I’m confident I can help you reach those goals. Additional services Besides English Grammar and Conversational English, I'm happy to help students with their writing skills. For instance, if you need help correcting errors in written text, I'm all too happy to help you with that. If you wish to improve your reading skills, I'm willing to help. While living in the UK, I worked in customer service for over 10 years. For those who want mentoring and guiding in customer service delivery, I'm all too happy to do this.
