Hi there! I'm Edema, but most of my students just call me Mr. John. I hold a B.Sc. in Mathematics from FUNAAB, and I'm a certified secondary school teacher with over a decade of classroom experience teaching Mathematics, Further Mathematics, and Physics under Nigeria's Oyo State Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM). I also teach Chemistry and Yoruba. What makes me a bit different: I'm an official examiner for both WAEC and NECO, which means I don't just teach the syllabus — I know exactly how examiners think, what they're looking for in an answer, and where students typically lose marks. I bring that inside knowledge straight into my lessons. I built my own teaching framework called the 3-Question Method, which I use in every class: What are we solving? How do we solve it? When do we use this? It keeps lessons simple and helps students actually understand a concept instead of just memorizing steps — so it sticks with them long after the exam. I organize my classes around each student's level and goals, whether that's building strong foundations in JSS1–JSS3, exam-focused prep for WAEC, NECO, or JAMB in SS1–SS3, or Cambridge IGCSE Mathematics (0580) for students on that track. My teaching style is patient and approachable — I want you to feel comfortable asking "silly" questions, because that's usually where the real learning happens. I run Mr. John Academy, my own tutoring brand, with the motto "Your Success Is My Mission" — and I mean it.
