Hello! I’m a year 4 Medicine student with teaching experience in Biology across CBSE, NEET, A-Levels and Foundation in Science. I’ve taught Grade 10 and Grade 12 students in India, including students preparing for the NEET examination. My medical background has given me a strong foundation in Human Biology, Physiology, Cell Biology, Genetics, Microbiology and Immunology. I especially enjoy making complex topics easier to understand by breaking them down into simple explanations, diagrams, flowcharts and easy-to-follow stories. I believe Biology is much more than memorising pages of information. My approach focuses on understanding the “why” behind each concept so that students can remember and apply what they learn, especially when answering exam questions. Every student learns differently, so I tailor my lessons according to their individual needs, learning gaps and goals. Depending on what you need, we can focus on building your foundations, understanding difficult topics, revising for exams or practising exam-style questions. I also help students develop effective revision techniques, including active recall, self-testing, practice questions and explaining concepts without notes. I use diagrams, flowcharts and structured summaries to make revision more manageable and improve long-term retention. I would love to work with IGCSE, A-Level and secondary-school Biology students who want to strengthen their understanding, improve their exam performance and feel more confident in Biology. Realicé mi doctorado en la Universidad de Cantabria, en el ámbito de la Geometría Diferencial, y a continuación pasé tres años como investigador postdoctoral en la KU Leuven de Bélgica. Durante estos años he estado impartiendo clases en distintas asignaturas de Matemáticas a estudiantes universitarios de Matemáticas, Física, Ingenierías, CC Biológicas y CC Químicas. Creo que la labor de un profesor (particularmente de Matemáticas) tiene que ser la de utilizar su propia experiencia pasada como estudiante para ayudar al alumno a adquirir los conocimientos de forma rápida y sólida, ayudándole a ganar en intuición propia sobre las materias. En clase suelo preocuparme mucho por adaptar las explicaciones a cada estudiante y siempre intento buscar nuevas maneras de explicar las cosas hasta encontrar el formato que mejor se adapta al alumno. La labor pedagógica me resulta muy estimulante, nunca me canso ni pierdo la paciencia con nadie. Las encuestas de los alumnos en la universidad siempre me han otorgado calificaciones muy altas, superiores a la media del resto del profesorado. Los alumnos suelen pasarlo bien en mis clases, y yo también lo paso bien con ellos.

Certificaciones en programación C y C++ del Cpp Institute y de Python en el Python Institute, así como otros estudios de matemáticas, computación y formación docente. He trabajado en educación media y bachillerato diversificado como docente de matemáticas e informática desde hace 16 años con adolescentes de 12 años a adultos de más de 50 años de edad, en todos los niveles de educación media y bachillerato, y en las diversificaciones humanística, biológica y científica. También he sido tutor de robótica por muchos años de equipos de FLL, y de cursos de formación en robótica educativa para docentes en la plataforma del instituto Thales de España. Mi metodología de trabajo es muy sencilla, evitar en la medida de lo posible el aprendizaje memorístico. Depurar si es el caso la notación matemática, que muchas veces conduce a errores semánticos. Procurar trabajar con el entendimiento y las ideas previas, fomentando así el aprendizaje significativo, y atender a las necesidades individuales del estudiante, ya sea por sus expectativas y/o dificultades.
