Hello...My name is Palesa, and I come from South Africa. I was raised in a diverse and vibrant environment where language plays an important role in connecting people from different backgrounds. Growing up in such a multicultural setting has deeply shaped my appreciation for communication, understanding, and the power of language to bridge communities. From an early age, I developed a strong interest in helping others and building meaningful connections. This naturally led me into roles in administrative support, where I learned how to communicate clearly, listen actively, and adapt to different personalities and needs skills that form the very foundation of effective teaching. Throughout my career, I have worked in fast-paced professional environments, managing calls, emails, and live chats often supporting individuals who needed guidance, patience, and reassurance. These experiences strengthened my ability to explain ideas in a simple and engaging way. Most notably, I have had the privilege of traveling to Russia to teach English, an experience that profoundly reinforced the importance of empathy, clarity, and encouragement in education. Teaching in a foreign country gave me firsthand insight into the challenges of learning a new language, and it taught me how to create a classroom environment where students feel safe, supported, and motivated to grow. My passion for teaching English stems from a genuine desire to help others grow in confidence and open doors to new opportunities. This really helped me become flexible in my teaching, because I had to adjust my approach depending on each student’s needs. It also gave me valuable experience working in a different cultural environment and finding ways to make lessons clear, engaging, and relatable. I also have a TEFL certificate, which provided me with a strong understanding of lesson planning, classroom management, and effective teaching strategies. I’ve been able to put this into practice by designing lessons that cover all key language skills speaking, listening, reading, and writing while still keeping students actively involved. My teaching style is supportive but structured. I try to create a comfortable space where students feel confident enough to participate and not be afraid of making mistakes. I usually simplify grammar explanations, use real life examples, and focus a lot on conversation to help students become more fluent and natural in their speaking. I’ve mainly taught grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, and conversational English. I also enjoy helping students improve their writing by focusing on clarity and sentence structure. One of the most rewarding parts of teaching for me is seeing students grow in confidence and become more comfortable using English in everyday situations.
