Muchos arabismos se reconocen fácilmente por comenzar con "al-", el artículo árabe, aunque no todas las palabras que empiezan así provienen del árabe. La influencia se extendió a áreas como la agricultura, la arquitectura, el comercio, la guerra y la ciencia.
