Patient Chinese Tutor for Teenagers (16+) and Adults, A1-B2 levels. Hello, I'm Ellen Li, a native Chinese speaker. I have more than 20 years of experience teaching Mandarin to foreign learners. I obtained my Chinese language teaching qualification and I fully understand the difficulties students face when learning Chinese, especially tones and characters. My teaching method is student-centred. Before starting lessons, I learn about each student’s goals, whether they want Chinese for travel, daily conversation, work or academic HSK exams. I tailor every class to match their level and needs. For beginners, I focus heavily on standard Mandarin pronunciation and Pinyin first. I use simple, practical daily dialogues to help students speak from the very first lesson. As students progress, I add basic grammar and simple Chinese character recognition step by step. I am patient and calm. Many students feel nervous to speak Chinese. I create a relaxed classroom environment, encourage students to talk freely and correct mistakes gently. In every class, we practise listening and oral expression. Homework and feedback are provided after class to help students consolidate what they have learned.
