My name is Luis and I am from the United States. I studied finance at the University of Michigan and at the University of Puerto Rico and have a TEFL certification covering business English and English for the workplace. I have been teaching Business English and English for the workplace for 7 years. Some of my interests include business, science, technology, and economics.
I speak English, Spanish, and Portuguese.
The business English class is for business owners, people who are interested or already work in the business field, or students preparing for interviews to start their careers.
The Business English class covers the following: how to create and respond to emails, business jargon, business vocabulary, pronunciation, grammar, conversational practice, preparing for interviews, keeping up with business news and changes in the industry, how to create a business plan, communicating in the workplace, how to negotiate in English, and anything else you need help with related to business.
The English for the Workplace class is for students or people who are in any other industry such as computer programming, engineering, medicine, law, and more. This course is for students that are preparing to start a career in a specific industry or people who already work in an industry. Some industries I have experience teaching are computer programming, technology, medicine, law, engineering, sales and customer service, and more.
The English for the workplace class covers the following: how to create and respond to emails, common expressions used in your industry, vocabulary related to your industry, pronunciation, grammar, conversational practice, preparing for interviews, keeping up with news and changes in your industry, communicating in the workplace and anything else you need help with related to the industry you work in.
