I am a professional violin player and a teacher, in Sri Lanka. I have a Bachelor of Performing Arts First class Honours Degree and a Master's degree in Music. I have playing experience in orchestras, chamber ensembles, and music bands. I also do singing, and I am currently active as a violin Performer and as a Music Tutor for all ages. I am very patient, enjoy teaching, and I am willing to work with any student who is interesting in anything I have to offer, regardless of knowledge level they possess. I could introduce students to various musical genres of playing, singing and also to incorporate the correct techniques and expressions - classical, traditional, jazz, funk, soul, rock...etc: I like to approach every student individually, because we are all different and special in our own way. I have mentored students of various ethnic backgrounds, ages and abilities in pinpointing their individual academic/musical needs, allowing them to flourish both academically/musically and as balanced students. This experience ameliorated my penchant for flexibility, adaptability, as well as the engagement and understanding of different students. I love meeting new students and helping them through their journey with the instrument.
