I have a Bachelor of Education in Mathematics and Computer Science and I've taught in international schools around the world for 15 years including the International School Manila, the American School of Madrid and Koç High School in Istanbul. I've taught the IB maths curriculum, the American maths curriculum, the Spanish exam preparatory curriculum and the Canadian maths curriculum. I am a certified maths and computer science teacher with the Ontario College of Teachers in Canada and I have qualified teacher status in England and Wales in mathematics and computer science. I also taught English while living in Taiwan for three years and I continue to tutor English reading, writing, listening, understanding and speaking. I try to use a range of resources ranging from pencil and paper to interactive material such as Geogebra. I have access to a tablet for use with the online whiteboard and an HD document camera for demonstrations using pen and paper. With maths in particular, it is important to practise what you have learned on a regular basis so as not to forget it when you learn a new concept. However, it is also important not to be overworked or to let other subjects slip. I am happy to provide my students with an exercise a day to complete between tuition sessions. These exercises are optional and last no more than 15 minutes per day... although if you want more, I can provide that.

I incorporate videos and games into my lessons when possible to make lessons interesting and fun. I give my students opportunities to learn at their own pace, with no rushing, and no pressure. I have successful records of helping students raise their grades. I have also organized classes for students who were not doing well in math which was productive at the end of the year and prepared students for SAT exams.
