Hi, I’m Yijing, your Mandarin tutor.
Have you ever felt that Chinese is like a heavy door, with grammar as a complicated lock and culture as a mysterious mist? Don’t worry — you’ve found your guide. My mission is to help you learn Chinese in a way that is both fun and effective.
What makes my teaching unique?
I graduated in Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language and hold a national Mandarin proficiency certificate. I have nearly two years of teaching experience and currently live in Chengdu. I also organize cultural activities, such as Gongfu tea rituals, to bring the language to life.
The seven challenges — and how we solve them.
Many learners face common problems. For words with multiple meanings, we don’t just memorize definitions. We learn full sentences in real situations, like using “意思” in different contexts.
For tone changes, we practice tones in natural speech, just like linked sounds in English. I’ll guide you until your spoken Chinese sounds natural.
For similar words, we use contrastive sentence practice. For example, “知道” (know of), “认识” (know personally), and “了解” (know deeply) become clear when you see them side by side.
For grammar rules that feel hard to use, we ask: “Would a real person say this?” A sentence can be correct but not natural — and I’ll help you tell the difference.
If your vocabulary feels limited, I’ll give you richer ways to express yourself. For example, move from “你好” to “很高兴认识你” to the more elegant “幸会”.
For stress and tone of voice, we work on how emphasis changes meaning. A simple “你怎么在这儿?” can show surprise, displeasure, or curiosity, depending on your tone.
And finally, Chinese grammar habits are different. In English you say “She is beautiful.” In Chinese we say “她很漂亮” — no “is” needed. Once you understand this logic, speaking becomes much easier.
Who is this for?
Whether you are a complete beginner or can already hold a basic conversation, I will help you solve these issues step by step. My classes are speaking-focused, clear, and patient.
Welcome to my class. I look forward to hearing your stories and learning about your culture — in Chinese.

Hi! I'm a first-year student at Xi'an Jiaotong-Liverpool University, majoring in Computer Science. I'm a native Chinese speaker, and I grew up speaking the language that young people actually use every day — not just textbook Chinese.
My classes are all about casual conversation. Want to learn how to order food, make friends, or understand memes and slang? We can just chat like friends. I'll help you sound natural, not robotic. I can also explain things in English when you get stuck, because I know what it's like to learn a new language too.
Whether you're a complete beginner (A1) or at an intermediate level (B1), I'll tailor each lesson to your goals. Let's learn Chinese the fun way — through real talk!

I'm Liang and I'm in Shanghai. My hometown is Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, which is often called the "Paradise on Earth".
I'm a native Chinese, so Mandarin is surely my mother tongue. English is my university major.
I once had a teaching experience, which was to be the English teacher for grades 4 to 6 in a primary school. I taught the children English happily on the playground and the lawn instead of having them sit in the classroom and read from books. My classes were recognized by the principal and many parents, and the children regarded me as their member. After graduating from university, I came to Shanghai to engage in import and export trade, and have been doing this for over 20 years. During this period, I have worked with business partners and clients from all over the world. Although I don't have formal teaching experience as a professional Chinese language teacher, I have trained and taught more than ten interns in my previous company, including Indian and Uzbek students. My students' Chinese proficiency reached HSK level 6, and we often interacted and shared learning experiences and life pleasures, almost becoming close friends.
I am quite approachable and patient. I speak at a moderate pace and am always willing to share my knowledge with students. I especially like curious students. I believe that students who ask questions are thinking actively, have their own ideas and personalities, which is wonderful! I have many hobbies in my spare time, such as learning languages like Spanish; studying psychology and traditional Chinese medicine; and loving Chinese traditional culture. So if you come to my class, you will find that apart from learning Chinese language, you will also learn some health tips from the Yellow Emperor's Inner Classic, understand elegant things in intangible cultural heritage, learn a piece of Chinese Kungfu, get to know Chinese opera and face-changing art, and acquire some interesting knowledge about Chinese history, culture and famous works.
I like my classes to be unique and distinctive; I like my classes to be full of laughter and enable students to have a lot of gains; I like to teach students according to their aptitudes and tailor learning methods based on their acceptance and understanding abilities.
I look forward to your coming to my class to learn Chinese and understand Chinese culture. It will be my honor to be your Chinese language teacher!
