Tiphaine

Hello! My name is Tiphaine, and I’m French. I love linguistics, understanding, and explaining how a language works! I’m also very curious about other cultures and eager to meet people from all around the world. That’s why, after working for ten years in international corporations in multilingual teams, I left everything behind to start teaching French. I completed a one-year training program in teaching French as a foreign language. During this training, I learned to apply the action-oriented approach: it involves using real-life situations so that learners can immediately reuse what they have learned in real contexts. I also studied phonetics and how to help learners distinguish French-specific sounds, produce them, and improve their pronunciation. During my training, I specialized in French for specific purposes. This means designing tailored learning programs based on the learner’s needs in the field where they intend to use the language. If you need to use French in a professional, non-profit, or other specific setting, I will adapt my teaching accordingly with authentic documents, tasks, and role-playing exercises. For beginners and intermediate learners, my lessons are based on the Alter Ego textbooks. These books are particularly useful for preparing for the Diplôme d’Études en Langue Française (DELF). I will share the textbook and the corresponding activity book with you. For more advanced learners, if you’re looking for conversation classes, I can suggest videos or articles based on your interests at the beginning of the lesson to start a discussion and introduce new vocabulary.
