Hello, my name is Sofía, and I am a teacher of Spanish as a Foreign Language (ELE). I am an English philologist and graduated in ELE from the University of Oviedo, where I strengthened my knowledge in linguistics, pedagogy, and language teaching. Since then, I have been professionally dedicated to teaching ELE, combining my academic training with practical experience in diverse educational settings.
My teaching experience includes working with both adults and young learners, in face-to-face and online environments. Throughout my career, I have taught students of different nationalities and proficiency levels, which has allowed me to develop adaptive methods to address various learning styles and communicative goals. I am passionate about supporting students in their learning journey, not only helping them improve their language skills but also enabling them to understand and appreciate the rich cultural context surrounding the Spanish language.
As an ELE professional, I consider it essential to combine theory with practice. Therefore, I design my classes to be dynamic, interactive, and student-centered, fostering engagement and confidence when communicating in Spanish. I also incorporate a variety of resources, from traditional materials to digital tools, tailoring the content to the needs and preferences of each group.
Thanks to my background in English philology, I can also offer a comparative approach with the English language, which is especially useful for English-speaking students. This perspective allows me to anticipate common difficulties, explain grammatical structures clearly, and provide practical strategies to overcome obstacles in learning Spanish.
Ultimately, my work as an ELE teacher is not just a profession but a vocation. I enjoy accompanying my students on their path to fluency, watching them progress, stay motivated, and gain confidence in using Spanish. Every class is an opportunity to share knowledge, explore the language and Spanish culture, and build meaningful and lasting learning experiences.
If you are looking for a passionate teacher with solid academic training and extensive practical experience in ELE, I would be delighted to help you achieve your linguistic and cultural goals in Spanish.
