About me

Roça Class is built around one idea: you learn by entering real Brazilian life. Mineiro Portuguese is indirect speech, irony, layered meanings, and expressions that don’t translate literally. If you’ve ever felt like Brazilians are “hard to understand,” this is why, and I make that visible. In each 1h15min session, we focus on real-life speaking: you talk about your daily life (work, travel, chats with Brazilians), and I correct pronunciation and expressions live, immersing you in genuine Brazilian Portuguese. Don't worry if you're a beginner, we'll find a way to get you speaking! Optional immersion: I can take you on a live virtual walk through my house and routine, so you practice Portuguese while real life unfolds. I use multiple AI tools to create all kinds of realistic hypothetical scenarios for you to practice. We can suppose, for example, you’re at a Brazilian barbecue on a hot Sunday afternoon, or at Copacabana beach with your flip-flops broken. What do you say or do? You respond, with my guidance, in Portuguese - building a massive, practical vocabulary along the way. Important: if you want structured, grammar-heavy, standardized Portuguese, I might not be the right teacher. Mineirês doesn’t follow clean rules, and that’s exactly what we work with.
