About me

My name is Peter Ogumakin a passionate science educator, Biochemistry graduate, and dedicated tutor with approximately six to seven years of teaching experience. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry and a Master's degree in Biochemistry from the University of Lagos (UNILAG). My academic background, combined with my teaching experience, has equipped me with the knowledge and skills to simplify complex scientific concepts and make learning engaging, practical, and accessible to students. Throughout my teaching career, I have developed a strong passion for helping students overcome academic challenges, particularly in Chemistry and Biology. I understand that these subjects can sometimes seem difficult and overwhelming, especially when students struggle to understand abstract concepts or apply theoretical knowledge to examination questions. My goal is to bridge that gap by breaking down challenging topics into simple, relatable explanations that students can easily understand and remember. I have approximately six to seven years of experience working with students of different abilities and learning styles. My teaching approach is student-centred, focusing on identifying individual learning gaps, building confidence, encouraging critical thinking, and helping students develop effective study habits. I believe that every student has the potential to excel when provided with the right guidance, patience, and learning environment.
