My name is Maria Panchevski and I am a native English teacher, born and educated in London. I am currently based in Madrid, Spain. I have been teaching children and adults for over eight years, covering all areas (exam preparation, conversation, English reinforcement, etc.), always tailoring the content to each student’s goals and needs. My specialty is conversation, because I believe that speaking with confidence and fluency is the true foundation for mastering a language. In class, we work on helping you think in English, express yourself naturally, and overcome any insecurity when speaking. Regular practice also helps improve grammar and vocabulary organically, without making it a heavy or mechanical process. Over time, I have found that lessons only have real impact when they spark interest and motivation in the student. Without that engagement, learning remains superficial. That’s why I structure my lessons so that the content is useful and applicable to real-life situations. I avoid rote memorization or learning vocabulary that will have no practical use, unless the goal is to prepare for an official exam—in which case, I create a specific, targeted plan. My classes are participatory, dynamic, and adapted to each person’s pace. The goal is for you to feel confident using English in any situation, whether when travelling, at work, or in your daily life.
