I like to teach philosophy the way I learned it: chatting over coffee. I strongly encourage students to read the texts themselves and learn to discuss their ideas and perceptions. I believe that a philosophy class should not consist of spouting a bunch of facts, but rather of opening up a space for dialogue. I like to suggest readings (both philosophy and literature), films, songs, and short writing exercises. I believe that philosophy is an incredible tool for learning to read, write, and, above all, for expanding the way we approach the world.
