Hey! My name is Lygia, and I'm a Portuguese and English teacher with over 10 years of experience!
I offer personalized one-on-one language lessons. While I do teach general courses, my specialty is Language for Specific Purposes (LSP).
This means I create tailored courses for those who have a specific focus in mind! Whether it's advancing from a level where you feel stuck, preparing for an interview, migrating, regaining fluency when you feel you've forgotten a lot, using the language at work, chatting with in-laws, traveling, understanding your favorite songs and books—anything!
For some students, this means we will study only a handful of topics. For others, it means learning the whole language from where you are, but focusing more on certain topics.
In Portuguese, I offer customized classes for Spanish and English speakers, using my knowledge of these languages to create a course that uses concepts you already know as shortcuts and focuses more on aspects that may be more confusing due to their similarity or difference.You don't need to be a native speaker; feeling comfortable conversing with me in one of these languages is enough!
In English, I have two (sub)specialties. The first is supporting students who feel they can't advance from their current level. Typically, these are people who have studied for a long time but feel something is missing. The second is working with people who want to develop the English skills necessary for a life in an English-speaking environment, whether for migration or because that's the desired proficiency level. In these courses, we can study from the essentials for survival, like accessing medical care and managing visa issues, to topics related to long-term aspects of migration, such as building relationships and expressing your emotions and personality
I teach students of all levels in Portuguese, and intermediate-level students and above in English.
I've lived and worked (both online and in person) in various countries, such as Guatemala, Mexico, the United States, Brazil, Turkey, Hungary, and Sri Lanka. I'm very curious and enjoy hearing people talk about what they're passionate about, so whatever your interests are, we'll talk about them in our course :) Hope to see you soon!

Yes, you can cancel booking up to 8 hours before the lesson starts, indicating the reason for the cancellation. We will study each case personally to carry out the refund.
Can I modify a booking?
Yes, something unexpected can always happen, so you can change the time or day of the lesson. You can do it from your personal area in "Scheduled lessons" through the option "Change date".
Where are the lessons held?

How do I pay for the lesson?
