About me

Hi, my name is Josh, and I have taught English to hundreds of students since 2018. I'm not your typical teacher, and I didn't come to teaching through the usual means. I developed a passion for creating light-bulb moments when working in the corporate world and teaching new employees how to use various company systems. I moved on from there to start my own tutoring business. I have also taught English to children, and I had most success with English First (EF) where I was a QA Senior Mentor for other teachers, as well as an Online English Teacher. I like to approach things differently, and I believe that when we frame things in different ways, it makes things easier to understand and remember; it also makes things much more fun! When working with English First, I helped other teachers to improve their teaching skills, and I studied various techniques to aid language learning. Something I'm working on right now is the power of learning English by using it to create our own stories, where our choices and our language changes how the lesson progresses. It's very exciting, and I'd love you to be part of it. I usually adapt my teaching style to suit my students. I like to be energetic, enthusiastic and interactive, to help boost motivation, but sometimes a more relaxed approach is needed. I will always adapt the lesson to provide more practice if you need it, rather than moving on too soon.
