About me

Hello, my name is James and I am a native English speaker from Texas, currently living in Texas. I am a TEFL certified teacher with several years of experience teaching and tutoring ESL in international settings. I have experience teaching young learners with basic English comprehension all the way to adult learners with advanced English knowledge. I like to focus my instruction on conversation, with an emphasis on proper grammar. I have a laid-back approach to teaching which inspires confidence in my students, and I always include humor in my classes. I have experience with business English, specifically with interview preparation, and CV and cover letter creation. I learned Spanish to fluency so I understand the challenges to learning a new language and as a result am an empathetic teacher who is very patient and encouraging. I motivate my students to push their limits, but progress at a speed that is comfortable for the learner.
