Cambridge (CELTA) certified English teacher, bilingual English/Spanish . I spent 9 years living, studying and working in the U.K., where I also wrote a successful PhD thesis in Biology. During that period, I was most of the time immersed in an academic environment, where a very high level of English was necessary to make extremely complex ideas look simple and understandable to colleagues, students or the general public, be it in scientific conferences or even in day-to-day conversations about scientific topics. I am a very sociable person so, besides academic and formal English, I am also used to speaking in a more informal register. I met people from all kinds of social and cultural backgrounds and that gave me ample opportunity to practice more colloquial English. For that reason, I am perfectly able to manage comfortably in all kinds of conversational environments. I have previous experience in education, both as a private English teacher (in one-to-one lessons) and as a University teaching assistant, and I have completed a preparatory course for Learning and Teaching in Higher Education (LTHE).
