Hi! I'm Giuseppe, a Chinese and Italian teacher with many years of experience in languages, teaching, and intercultural communication.
I lived and worked in China for around twenty years, where I studied and taught both Chinese and Italian. My academic background includes a degree in second-language teaching, a master's degree, and a PhD in Chinese philology and palaeography. For more than 20 years, I have taught both Italian and Chinese at university level, and I currently work in academia as a professor of language and translation. I also teach translation theory and work as a translator.
I teach Chinese to Western students with an approach that pays close attention to the structure, logic, and culture of the language, as well as to real-life communication. Having a deep understanding of the difficulties that Italian, French, and English speakers can encounter when learning Chinese allows me to explain not only what to say, but also why a particular expression works the way it does in Chinese.
I have also been teaching Italian to international students for many years, including at university level. My approach combines teaching experience, strong linguistic expertise, and a focus on practical communication. We can work on conversation, grammar, pronunciation, writing, Italian for work or study, travel, or everyday communication. Lessons are fully personalised to your level, your goals, and the way you actually want to use Italian.
I speak Italian, Chinese, English, and French. My goal is to make language learning rigorous yet practical, personalised, and genuinely useful for everyday life, study, or work.
In my free time, I enjoy Argentine tango, photography, martial arts, music, and travelling.
