Olakunle, a dedicated and enthusiastic educator with over 15 years of experience in teaching maths and sciences, is committed to guiding practice and active learning to help students succeed.
The author takes pride in simplifying complex ideas and aims to facilitate learning for students by implementing various teaching methods, including guided problem-solving, real-life applications, and review sessions tailored to specific learning areas, ensuring a fun and enjoyable learning experience.
My classes are structured. Each lesson begins with a learning outcome, and I provide some direction as I progressively allow students to discover a solution path. After the initial description and exploration of the concepts, students practise what they have learnt, and I provide comments and advice as well as allow them to reflect on their learning experience.
I believe that an excellent learning environment must be open and encouraging. Learning should be fun! I strive to create a comfortable environment in which students are free to ask questions and express what they think and share their rules/ideas. I have taught at various levels of education due to my experience; for example, I have successfully taught students from a junior secondary level to a senior secondary level in schools and in preparation for localised and international examinations. I do not view myself as a traditional teacher; I am a teacher who combines traditional methods of teaching, using newer tools, for the best possible outcomes.
As educators, a lot of us are engaged in curriculum writing and development in different areas of education. I have academic research published and have developed academic content, primarily in the context of science education, as well. In addition, I also use technology in my own practice and data about my students to employ methods where I can engage my students quickly and efficiently while continuing to support their learning needs.
The students I am most interested in working with are at the junior and senior secondary school levels and anyone embarking on their way to write a maths or science proficiency exam. I am committed to helping you establish a foundation of learning so you can develop or build your edge academically!
