Hello :)!! My name is Álvaro Guzmán and i´m currently a seventh-semester medical student at the University of Guadalajara, with a strong academic foundation in biomedical sciences, clinical medicine, and evidence-based practice. I have maintained a high academic average of 98/100, reflecting consistency, discipline, and a deep understanding of subjects such as physiology, pharmacology, pathology, and clinical medicine. In addition to my formal education, I have completed supplementary training through international courses from institutions such as Stanford University and Johns Hopkins University, which has strengthened my perspective on patient care, primary care management, and chronic disease treatment from a global standpoint.
Alongside my studies, I work as a simulation instructor and academic tutor at the Clinical Simulation Center of my university. In this role, I teach undergraduate medical students through structured clinical scenarios using high-fidelity simulators, helping them develop clinical reasoning, decision-making, and procedural skills in a controlled and safe learning environment. I also provide academic support in microbiology laboratories and offer one-on-one tutoring, where I focus on simplifying complex topics and adapting explanations based on each student’s needs.
My teaching approach emphasizes active recall, clinical application, and clear conceptual understanding. I have experience teaching students from high school to university level, primarily in one-on-one and small group settings. Additionally, I am able to tutor in both Spanish and English, with a certified level equivalent to B2, which allows me to effectively support students in international contexts, including those based in the United States or Europe.
My experience working with diverse learning styles and academic levels has allowed me to develop a flexible and student-centered teaching approach, focused on building confidence, critical thinking, and long-term retention of knowledge. I would greatly appreciate the opportunity. Thank you!!
