Former Abibac student, I got the Abitur with my baccalauréat. Since then, I studied in Germany, where I knew to find the right methods to immerge myself in the language, before and during my journey. Disliked by many people, German language isn't one we choose at first glance for its beauty, it is one we learn to appreciate. Just like you, I didn't like the German language at the beginning, but today, it's a language I love and I even find beautiful to hear! It's a logical one built with order, and when we get it, it gives you the satisfaction of the thing well done. In my teaching, I value comprehension, and I'll never go through stupid learning. It's something you can do on your own, like for vocabulary ie (only subject where learning by heart makes sense), but it is not necessary to understand and speak German I believe. In this class, I'll do my best to share that proper admiration I have for the language, to share its secrets, all of this little things that make us understand so much more/ For example, you probably the word Doppelgänger. Originally from the German language, it installed itself in other languages as well like the English one. If we go under the blanket to look how the word is done, we have Doppel, meaning "double", and Gänger. Gänger comes from the verb gehen, meaning "to go", "to walk".
