Hi, I'm Lisa and have been a qualified KS2 to KS4 teacher for 15 years in the UK and an online tutor for 4 years, I am passionate about the subjects I teach and look to extend that passion into the lessons that I plan. I have developed a deep understanding of what online tutoring entails and have developed my teaching to accommodate this so that my students get the best out of me and out of the lesson. I am personable and strive to build a good rapport with my students to ensure that I am providing them with focused, tailored support. The ability to communicate effectively with parents, as well as students, is also crucial to a great tutoring relationship. I love to creative imaginative lessons for my students tailored specifically for them but always with a challenge which is important for them to extend themselves and thrive in a conducive environment. I enjoy using technology such as whiteboards and virtual games that will enhance their learning experience. Short term goals are set for each lesson so my students know where they are in the learning process and the context for why they are carrying out the activity. As we go forward together, longer term goals are set and a portfolio of work is set up so that they can look back and see how far they've come. By providing one-to-one support, I can hone their lessons to ensure that I am teaching the right content at the right pace for their learning style. Values are very important to me and I am Head of Values at the school where I work. I ensure that my lessons are values based and mutual respect is shown at all times. I look forward to meeting you!
