My name is Luke Moran, and I have been working as an English teacher for nine years. I completed my TEFL training in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, in September 2016. For the following two years, I worked in two different language centers, teaching students of all ages and levels. In September 2018, I began working at a local private primary school, ISPAC, in Puerto Vallarta. I taught Year 5 for two years, followed by a further two years teaching Year 6. Although I greatly enjoyed my time at ISPAC, the appeal of online teaching proved strong: the higher pay and reduced hours made it a sensible move. I began working online for AmazingTalker and have also taught with Cambly and NativeCamp. Currently, my main work is with my private students, some of whom I have taught for over three years. I love teaching and only wish I had begun my career in education earlier. I enjoy helping people and seeing the development of their language skills. I have broad interests and feel comfortable discussing a wide range of topics. I have lived in Mexico since 2016 and plan to remain here; I am settled, and relocating, particularly with my two dogs, would be impractical. Regarding availability, I am very flexible and have a strong track record of working nights and irregular hours from my earlier career in casinos. Since moving online, most of my students have been based in Asia, particularly China and Hong Kong, so I am fully comfortable with the working hours required for those time zones. To summarize, I have over nine years' teaching experience: six years in the classroom, teaching groups ranging from one to thirty learners, and more than four years online, primarily one-to-one but also with groups of up to twenty. I have taught at beginner, intermediate and advanced levels, and have worked with learners aged four to seventy. I have experience following school curricula and delivering specialized courses, such as Business English. I am TEFL-certified and, since I began teaching, I have also earned two qualifications from the Jalisco state education board in Mexico. These certify my ability to teach English bilingually and as a foreign language. I have included all three qualifications below.
