Hello! My name is Damaris, and I am excited to introduce myself as an online tutor specializing in mathematics for children ages 4 to 12. Teaching has always brought me joy, and I am passionate about helping young learners build confidence, curiosity, and a strong academic foundation. I offer tutoring in English, Dutch, and Greek, making learning accessible and comfortable for children from diverse language backgrounds. I come from a multicultural background that has shaped both my education and my approach to teaching. I was born and raised in the Netherlands until the age of eight, when my family moved to Greece. From that moment on, my schooling transitioned from Dutch to a combination of English and Greek. This multilingual and multicultural environment helped me become fluent in all three languages and gave me a deeper understanding of different learning systems. I completed my high school education in Greece, earned a degree as a weight consultant, and I am now continuing my studies to become a dietician. My experience as a tutor comes from working with children of various ages, each with their own personalities, challenges, and learning styles. I have helped them with their homework, supported them through difficult subjects, and encouraged them when they felt unsure. Through this, I’ve learned that every child has their own unique way of understanding the world, and it is my job to adapt my approach to match their needs. Whether a child is a visual learner, needs extra time, or is full of questions and eager to explore, I make sure learning feels fun, safe, and rewarding. When it comes to mathematics, my goal is to make the subject less intimidating and more engaging. I break down concepts into simple, clear steps and use real-life examples to help children connect numbers to things they see and experience every day. I believe that when children understand *why* math matters, they start to enjoy the process of learning it. As a tutor, I aim to build strong, trusting relationships with both students and parents. I want every child I work with to feel understood, encouraged, and proud of their progress. My mission is not only to improve grades but also to help children discover their abilities and feel confident in themselves.
