Hello, I’m Teacher Nanxi. I’m from Beijing, the capital of China. I hold both a senior‑high‑school chemistry teaching qualification certificate and a Certificate for International Chinese Language Teachers. I studied Chemistry Education at university. I have over 20 years of chemistry‑teaching experience and one‑year experience teaching Mandarin to foreign learners. Mandarin is my native language. I was born in southern China and have lived in Beijing for more than 27 years. I speak standard, authentic Mandarin and have a thorough understanding of cultural differences between northern and southern China. I’m deeply fond of traditional Chinese culture and value the importance of respecting cultural diversity. I can play the Hulusi, a musical instrument from China’s ethnic minorities. I’m upbeat and love life. My hobbies are gardening and travelling. Gardening keeps me fit and lets me appreciate the beauty of life. Travelling enables me to experience local cultures and customs as well as try wonderful local food. My students all enjoy my classes. I have completed psychological‑counseling training and earned a family‑education instructor certificate. Apart from passing on knowledge, I am devoted to building a safe, encouraging and immersive all‑Mandarin learning environment. I help nervous, hesitant students pluck up the courage to speak Chinese. Every class I deliver comes with practical, solid learning strategies. I look forward to meeting you in my online classroom.
