A propos de moi
Le professeur a écrit la présentation dans d'autres langues Traduire maintenant
I’m Annie, a native Cantonese speaker. I also speak Mandarin and Hakka. I have over 20 years of Chinese language teaching experience. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Chinese Literature, so I have solid knowledge of pronunciation, grammar and daily expressions.
My main teaching is Cantonese for global learners. Mandarin oral practice is offered as a secondary option.
I specialise in teaching beginners. Many of my students learn Cantonese for daily conversation, travel, working in Hong Kong, or communicating with family members.
My teaching methodology is student-centred. I focus heavily on authentic Cantonese pronunciation, listening practice and real-life daily dialogues. I will adjust my teaching pace and materials according to your learning goals and current level.
I avoid rigid textbook study. I use practical daily phrases, role-plays and real scenarios, to help you gain confidence and speak Cantonese quickly.
I am patient, easy-going and good at encouraging shy students. I will give you gentle feedback on your pronunciation. After each class, I can share useful notes and review materials to help you consolidate what you learn.
Whether you are a complete beginner or want to polish your existing Cantonese, welcome to book my trial lesson.

Hello! My name is Amanda. I am a professional Chinese teacher with many years of international teaching experience, and I currently live in France.
I am a certified teacher holding an Advanced International Chinese Teaching Certificate. I taught Chinese to international students for five years at a university in China, and later taught Chinese courses for three years at a university in the United States. Teaching students from different cultural backgrounds has been one of the most rewarding parts of my career, and my classes have always been very well received by students.
My professional path is also quite international. After my teaching experience, I completed a Master’s degree in accounting in the United States and worked at PwC in Boston. I later moved to France and obtained a Master’s degree in Accounting from ESSEC Business School. These experiences gave me a deep interest in cross-cultural communication.
Currently, I am also learning French myself. This experience helps me understand very well what adult language learners really need. 😉 Many traditional textbooks are either too childish or not very engaging for adults, so in my classes I prefer to use materials that are meaningful, interesting, and intellectually stimulating. 😊
In our lessons, I first take some time to understand your level and your goals. Then we design learning materials together based on your interests, including reading materials, videos, and conversation topics that are both interesting and challenging.
My interests are quite broad. I enjoy reading (both fiction and non-fiction), traveling, music, philosophy, history, art, and culture. These topics often become great conversation material in class, helping students improve their Chinese in a relaxed and natural way.
I believe language learning works best when students feel comfortable speaking and making mistakes. Every lesson is adapted to your level and your interests, whether you are a beginner or already have experience learning Chinese.
In addition, my background in accounting and finance allows me to help students who want to improve their Chinese in professional or business contexts. 😊 💼If you are interested in business communication in Chinese, we can design targeted lessons to help you communicate confidently.
I look forward to meeting you and helping you on your Chinese learning journey!
