Hi everyone! I’m Isabella, an international Chinese teacher at Yunnan University with five years of dedicated teaching experience. Beyond designing lessons and leading classes, I spend my free time studying the learning habits of students from diverse cultural backgrounds—whether you’re from Europe, Southeast Asia, or the Americas, I strive to understand your unique learning styles. I also love collecting interesting cultural anecdotes, which I can’t help but share in class, hoping to build a close connection with you right from the start.
What makes me stand out from other teachers? First, I’m fluent in both Mandarin and English, so when it comes to tricky grammar points or cultural nuances, I can explain them in the language you’re more comfortable with—no more struggling with confusing translations. Additionally, I’ve practiced Chinese calligraphy and classical dance for over a decade. In my classes, I don’t just teach words; I bring culture to life. For example, when we talk about the Spring Festival, I’ll show you how to fold red envelopes and even teach a simple folk dance move, turning Chinese learning into a vivid, memorable experience.
My classes always center around you. Before we start, we’ll have a casual chat to figure out your learning goals—are you preparing for a trip to China, looking to communicate with local colleagues, or just curious about the language? Then I’ll tailor the content: if you’re a traveler, we’ll focus on practical phrases for ordering food or asking for directions; if it’s for work, we’ll practice business greetings and email writing. In class, we’ll play interactive games like “Chinese Charades” and simulate real-life scenarios, such as haggling at a market or chatting with a taxi driver—so you can use what you learn right away.
I totally get the nervousness of learning a new language—who hasn’t mispronounced a word or mixed up Chinese characters? That’s why I create a relaxed classroom atmosphere, where mistakes are seen as part of the learning process. If you’re unsure about a word’s usage, feel free to ask—I’ll never rush you. And if you have questions after class, my inbox is always open, and I’ll reply with clear, patient explanations. My goal isn’t just to teach you Chinese; it’s to help you learn with confidence and enthusiasm every step of the way. Let’s start this fun Chinese-learning journey together!

Hello! My name is Amanda. I am a professional Chinese teacher with many years of international teaching experience, and I currently live in France.
I am a certified teacher holding an Advanced International Chinese Teaching Certificate. I taught Chinese to international students for five years at a university in China, and later taught Chinese courses for three years at a university in the United States. Teaching students from different cultural backgrounds has been one of the most rewarding parts of my career, and my classes have always been very well received by students.
My professional path is also quite international. After my teaching experience, I completed a Master’s degree in accounting in the United States and worked at PwC in Boston. I later moved to France and obtained a Master’s degree in Accounting from ESSEC Business School. These experiences gave me a deep interest in cross-cultural communication.
Currently, I am also learning French myself. This experience helps me understand very well what adult language learners really need. 😉 Many traditional textbooks are either too childish or not very engaging for adults, so in my classes I prefer to use materials that are meaningful, interesting, and intellectually stimulating. 😊
In our lessons, I first take some time to understand your level and your goals. Then we design learning materials together based on your interests, including reading materials, videos, and conversation topics that are both interesting and challenging.
My interests are quite broad. I enjoy reading (both fiction and non-fiction), traveling, music, philosophy, history, art, and culture. These topics often become great conversation material in class, helping students improve their Chinese in a relaxed and natural way.
I believe language learning works best when students feel comfortable speaking and making mistakes. Every lesson is adapted to your level and your interests, whether you are a beginner or already have experience learning Chinese.
In addition, my background in accounting and finance allows me to help students who want to improve their Chinese in professional or business contexts. 😊 💼If you are interested in business communication in Chinese, we can design targeted lessons to help you communicate confidently.
I look forward to meeting you and helping you on your Chinese learning journey!

Hello everyone, I'm Angelina Ma, Is Yi people and now living in Shanghai. As a certified senior international Chinese teacher, I firmly believe that language is a bridge across borders.
Over 15 years, I’ve shifted from teaching finance to Chinese, and traveled to over 30 countries—I truly love the clashes of different cultures. My classes are never boring: if you like food, we’ll chat about Yunnan rice noodles and Shanghai soup dumplings during grammar practice; if you’re curious about ethnic cultures, stories of the Dai Water-Splashing Festival might help you remember new words.
I tailor courses to your goals—be it business communication, daily conversations, or cultural exploration—all turned into lively interactions. Here, mistakes are badges of growth, and every attempt to speak deserves encouragement. I look forward to seeing you go from shy试探 (tentative tries) to confident expression, understanding China through the rhythms of Chinese characters, and feeling the warmth of culture in words.
Outside class, I’m always finding new things in life: morning mist over old towns, shouts in markets, the warmth of intangible cultural heritage crafts... These could all be little surprises in our classes.
I’d love to wander with you in the world of Chinese, turning every character into a story and every sentence into strength. Looking forward to meeting you, and making Chinese "fun" in countless wonderful ways.
