Hello there, I’d like to take this opportunity to tell you a bit about the classes I teach. I currently work with a diverse group of students, and my classes are dynamic, engaging, and focused on creating a supportive learning environment. I teach English to elementary-level learners, most of whom are eager to improve their speaking and listening skills. The average class size is around thirty students, and while this can be challenging, it’s also very rewarding. The students are between 10 and 14 years old, and they come from different backgrounds, bringing with them a variety of experiences and learning styles. Because resources are limited, I focus on using simple materials that are easy to access. We often make use of flashcards, realia, and visual aids. I also like to incorporate group work and pair work to encourage communication among students and reduce the pressure of speaking in front of the whole class. When possible, I include games, songs, and role-plays to make learning more interactive and enjoyable. My classroom environment is student-centered. I encourage participation and try to get to know each student by name. This helps in building rapport and making students feel valued. I use praise and positive reinforcement to motivate learners, and I always try to create a safe space where making mistakes is part of the learning process. When it comes to teaching grammar or vocabulary, I follow a structured approach such as PPP – Presentation, Practice, and Production – to ensure that students first understand the concept, then practice it, and finally use it independently in meaningful contexts. I also try to make connections between language and real-life situations so that students understand how English can be useful outside the classroom. Assessment in my classes is mostly formative. I observe participation, check classwork, and sometimes assign small tasks or projects. I give regular feedback to help students improve, and I always encourage them to ask questions when they don’t understand. Overall, my goal is to build confidence in my students and help them enjoy the process of learning English. It’s not always easy, especially with limited resources, but with creativity and patience, I believe any classroom can become a place of growth and discovery. Thank you.
