Hello! My name is Una, and I’m a friendly, patient, and enthusiastic English teacher from the Philippines. I am passionate about helping students improve their English while making every lesson comfortable, enjoyable, and meaningful.
I believe that learning English should be more than memorizing words and grammar rules. Students learn best when they have opportunities to listen, speak, practise, and use English in real-life situations. That is why I use a fun, interactive, and student-centered approach in my lessons.
I especially enjoy working with young learners and beginners. Children can learn English naturally through songs, games, pictures, stories, movement, and simple conversations. In my classes, I encourage students to participate actively and express themselves using English, even if they only know a few words at first. I celebrate their efforts and help them gradually turn simple words into complete sentences.
I understand that every learner is different. Some students are confident and talkative, while others may be shy or need more time to feel comfortable. I am patient with every student and adjust my teaching style according to their age, level, personality, interests, and learning goals. I create a friendly classroom where students know that making mistakes is a normal and important part of learning.
For young learners, we can practise useful everyday topics such as greetings, introductions, family, colours, animals, food, toys, school, hobbies, feelings, and daily routines. I also encourage students to practise simple conversation patterns such as “What’s your name?”, “How are you?”, “What do you like?”, “What colour is it?”, and “What do you see?” Repeating these conversations in different activities helps students become more comfortable using English naturally.
I also focus on developing important skills such as vocabulary, pronunciation, listening, speaking, and sentence formation. Rather than simply giving students the answers, I guide them with questions, examples, gestures, repetition, and encouragement so they can gradually become more independent speakers.
My goal is not only to help students learn English but also to help them enjoy the learning process. I want my students to finish each lesson feeling proud of what they have accomplished and excited to learn something new in the next class.
Whether your child is taking their first steps in English or wants to become more confident in everyday conversation, I would be happy to support them on their learning journey. I will do my best to create lessons that are educational, engaging, and suited to each student's needs.
