Hallo! I am Collins Nomafo, an English teacher with a solid background in education and a genuine interest in helping leaners grow at their own pace. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and Foundations of Education, a Diploma in Education, and both level 3 and level 5 TEFL certification. I have taught English in classroom settings, online, and during my national service year, where I work with upper primary learners. This experience shaped my teaching style and helped me understand how different student learn and respond to language instruction.
My teaching approach is practical, structured, and student-centered. I start by getting to know your goals, whether you want to improved your speaking skills, work on grammar, prepare for an exam, or build your confidence for everyday communication. This initial assessment guides the structure of our lessons and helps me adapt each session to your strengths and challenges.
During lessons, I use a mix of guided explanations, examples, short activities, flashcards and real-life tasks. I focus on helping you understand how English works, but more importantly, how to use it naturally. My methodology combines elements of communicative teaching, task-based learning, and guided practice. You will speak, listen, read, and write in every lesson, with activities designed to feel useful rather than mechanical.
For grammar lessons, I break down concepts into simple steps and connect them to everyday situations so they are easier to remember. When working on speaking, I use prompts, role-plays, and discussion tasks to help you express yourself without pressure. If you want to work on your pronunciation, I give clear models, drills, and practical tips to help you sound more natural. I also provide regular feedback so you always know what to improve and how to improve it.
