Hello! My name is Ruth, and I am an experienced tutor with a background in Biochemistry and a deep passion for teaching. I graduated with a Second Class Upper Division in Biochemistry, and over the years, I have expanded my skills beyond science to include teaching English, Mathematics, and other core subjects. I enjoy working with students of different ages and backgrounds, guiding them not only to improve academically but also to develop confidence and motivation in their learning journey.
Who I am and my background
With a strong academic foundation in Biochemistry, I bring analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and structured learning strategies into my lessons. My education has given me the discipline to approach subjects systematically, and I use that to help my students grasp concepts step by step. At the same time, my teaching journey has shaped me into a patient, creative, and flexible educator who understands that every student learns differently.
My teaching experience
I have several years of teaching and tutoring experience, both in classroom settings and online platforms. I have taught English to beginners, children aged 4–10, as well as older students who need to improve their communication skills. I have also guided learners in Mathematics, simplifying complex topics into fun, easy-to-understand lessons. In Science, I encourage curiosity and discovery, helping students connect theory with real-life applications. My students appreciate my ability to break down difficult subjects and make them approachable.
My teaching style and methodology
I strongly believe that no two learners are the same. For that reason, I tailor my lessons to the individual needs of each student. I make use of interactive activities, visual aids, storytelling, games, and practical examples to keep learners engaged. I create a safe space where mistakes are welcomed as part of learning, and I encourage students to ask questions and participate actively. My goal is not only to help students understand the subject but also to build their confidence and independence.

I teach English (spoken, written, vocabulary, phonics, and reading), Mathematics (basic to intermediate), and Science (general and foundational). I work with children, teenagers, and beginners who need strong foundations, as well as older learners who want to improve step by step.
