Maths standing between you and your next course? | IB, IGCSE, A-Level, AP & University Maths
Hello, I’m Gamal.
“Where did this equation come from?”
“How do I apply it?”
“Does this even make sense?”
These are exactly the kinds of questions we work on. You may be able to follow a worked example, but then the question changes and suddenly you’re unsure where to start. When your qualification or university admission depends on mathematics, that uncertainty matters.
Mathematics shouldn’t be a collection of formulas that you are expected to memorise and use without understanding. You should know where an equation comes from, what it means, why it works, and when to apply it.
It should make sense.
You’ll learn with an Associate Professor and PhD in Astrophysics, but these are not lecture-hall lessons. They are clear, practical conversations where confusion is welcome, questions are encouraged, and every step has a reason.
I have extensive experience teaching mathematics at school and university levels. I teach IB, IGCSE, A-level, AP, and other advanced mathematics courses, as well as university mathematics for science and engineering students.
We work directly with your course topics, class material, and past-paper questions. Step by step, you will learn to read problems carefully, choose an appropriate method, explain your reasoning, and write solutions that earn full marks.
My approach is simple: understand first, then practise.
We don’t just ask, “How do I solve this?” We also ask, “Why does this work?” “Why do I need this?” and “What does this actually tell me?”
The real shift comes when a question that once felt impossible starts to become a plan—What is it asking? What do I know? What am I trying to find? What method fits?
The goal is to help you reach the point where you look at a difficult question and think:
“I know how to start this.”
And eventually:
“Wait… this actually makes sense.”
If you’re a parent, the change I want you to see is simple:
Not: “Can you help me solve this?”
But: “I think I know how this works. Let me show you.”
That’s what we’re working toward.
A note about homework and exams: having someone do your homework for you may get you an answer, but it doesn’t help you understand how to get there yourself. I won’t simply give you the answers. Before we meet, we can discuss what you would like to work on, so we can make good use of our lesson time.
For exam preparation, strong results come from building understanding and practising consistently over time. However, if your exam is close, a few focused lessons can still help address specific gaps and priorities.
Tell me what you are working towards, and bring one question where you got stuck.
Show me what you tried. We’ll look at where you lost your way and work out a useful
next step together.
