Hello! My name is Hlumela, but you can call me Mela 😊 I’m a friendly, patient, and enthusiastic English tutor from South Africa with over 2 years of experience teaching students from different backgrounds and levels.
I hold a TEFL/TESOL certification and a degree in Mechanical Engineering, where I achieved a distinction in Communication Studies. I later became a Communication Studies tutor and was selected as a Mechanical Engineering mentor, which strengthened my ability to explain concepts clearly, support students step by step, and build confidence in learning.
What makes me different is my teaching approach. I don’t just focus on grammar — I focus on helping you speak English confidently and naturally in real-life situations. My lessons are relaxed, supportive, and judgment-free, so you can feel comfortable expressing yourself, even if you make mistakes.
In my classes, I organize lessons based on your level and goals. Whether you are a beginner or more advanced, I will guide you step by step. We focus on conversation, pronunciation, vocabulary, and sentence structure using real-life topics like daily life, work, travel, and personal interests. I also use different materials such as articles, structured exercises, and guided conversations to keep lessons engaging and effective.
