You will learn important aspects of theory, as necessary, throughout the journey, but the strategy is to teach you the "how" first so you can apply your skills to learn and write songs. The theory will intuitively make sense once you can apply it to songs you have learned and have a feel for the music. You will learn essentials, such as, but not limited to: Fundamental time signatures and basic strum patterns Arpeggios, scales, and keys Major, minor, and 7th chords Key changes mid-song If you're interested in singing while playing, I can guide you through that as well.
