I am an English tutor with 10 years of experience in private lessons for adults and children from all over the world. I’m originally from Greece but have been living in the UK over the last 13 years. I obtain a BSc (Hons) in Psychology and a master's degree in Creative Writing, both from universities in Britain. I provide one to one lessons in either English or Greek or both!
I focus primarily on helping students feel more comfortable with Speaking, along with all other aspects of language learning. I teach using the target language as the main language of communication in order to help students start practicing the language without having to overthink things through and improve their confidence on the new language. I am always very optimistic and positive as a person, since positive thinking can helps us not only in the greater “successful” learning of a foreign language but also to achieve any goals we set in life in general.
Additionally, as a Psychologist and specifically through Positive Psychology, I help students with various methods to unleash their potential, as well as to overcome fears and setbacks in order to master not only the target language but to also gain the self-confidence needed, so that they can use English/Greek comfortably at any given time.
Lastly, I tailor my teaching style and general support to students specifically around their individual needs, so that they can achieve their goals successfully. I use a variety of methods and games that help in successful memorisation as well as the overall understanding of vocabulary and grammar rules - the above is also possible through flashcards, videos, storytelling and creative writing where I also obtained my master's degree.
Having many years of experience as a performance coach, psychologist and project manager, I also offer various coaching sessions. In addition, I provide full support with interviews in the UK and abroad, CV completion and mock interviews with many interview tips to help you be successful in your future job role!

Ciao a tutt3! Sono Massimo Vazzana, un attore palermitano attualmente domiciliato a Bologna, dove, tra uno spettacolo e l'altro, mi sto laureando alla magistrale di Filologia, Letteratura e Tradizione Classica. Sono un appassionato di Lingua e Cultura Latina e Greca, soprattutto Mitologia, e il mio approccio con gli studenti è sempre stato rivolto a sviluppare la curiosità e la creatività, componenti essenziali nel Teatro, ma che permettono anche di approcciarsi allo studio con un occhio diverso, più aperto e consapevole.
Latino e Greco sono considerate "lingue morte", e di fatto lo sono, eppure continuano a vivere ininterrottamente nella nostra cultura, nelle nostre tradizioni (di ogni genere, persino culinarie), nella nostra lingua. È assurdo come quasi ogni singola parola italiana, dai termini più usuali a quelli prettamente scientifici, derivi dal Latino o dal Greco. Cosí come la maggior parte dei nostri modi di dire o proverbi. E sapete quante volte mi è capitato di non conoscere il significato di una parola italiana e di indovinarlo proprio a partire dal Greco, senza bisogno di usare il dizionario?
Nelle mie lezioni, online o in presenza, offro la possibilità agli studenti di approfondire o recuperare i programmi di studio ma anche di affrontare lo studio stesso con un pizzico di gioco e fantasia in più, riscoprendo "l'utilitá" spesso dimenticata delle materie umanistiche. D'altronde tutto è nato lí, sarebbe un peccato perderci le nostre origini, no? 😉

Hello everyone! My name is Sara, and I give lessons in Italian literature, history, geography, art history, French, Latin, Greek and English; regarding the last three subjects I mentioned, I mean both language and literature.
In addition to specializing in these subjects, I am a teaching tutor (helping with tasks of all kinds).
I have already helped many kids with their homework and studying, not only from a theoretical but also methodological point of view. Furthermore, I am a Psychology student: thanks to my knowledge, I recommend learning methods suited to everyone's needs.
I supported male and female students with various difficulties: memorization, organization of time, concentration, methodology and poor understanding of the Italian language.
I still remember a beautiful milestone in my career: a person who had difficulty in Italian and learning Italian literature asked me for help in studying the entire fifth year program from scratch, in order to take the Maturity exam. I promptly offered my support, creating summaries and PowerPoint presentations that were very easy to understand and very comprehensive. The result was exceptional: during the lessons (5 in total) I managed to summarize all the authors of the fifth year (from Leopardi to Saba), and the Maturity Exam was successfully completed!

Credo che queste lingue e queste culture abbiano ancora oggi tanto da offrire e da insegnarci, poiché possono farci comprendere che fenomeni globali come la diffusione di una lingua più di un'altra o l'immigrazione non sono figli del nostro tempo, ma esistono da milioni di anni e hanno sempre rappresentato dei problemi con cui il mondo ha dovuto confrontarsi.
