Hello! My name is Catarina, and I am a native European Portuguese teacher with a Master’s Degree in Portuguese as a Foreign Language from the University of Porto (FLUP). With over 7 years of experience, I specialize in helping adults and professionals master the language with confidence and precision. My teaching philosophy is built on flexibility and personalization. I do not believe in strictly following a single textbook. Instead, my methodology is based on adapting materials, which I create myself, to the unique needs and pace of each student. I believe that learning should be organic and tailored to your specific reality, rather than a rigid academic exercise. In our lessons, we will work together on all core language pillars: Grammar, Writing, Vocabulary, and Conversation. I am dedicated to helping my students reach their individual goals, and lately, I have been focusing extensively on preparing students for the CIPLE exam, ensuring they have the tools and confidence needed to succeed in their official certification. I am also fluent in English, as well as French and Spanish, which allows me to provide extra support to multilingual students and explain complex concepts clearly.
