Hola!, 😃, mi nombre es Edith Yeo, soy profesora de canto de ópera y llevo más de dos años enseñando canto. Ya he participado en muchas óperas, como "La Traviata", "Lucia di Lammermoor", "L'elisir d'amore", "La flauta mágica", 'Dido y Eneas', y muchas más, 😃, y también he asistido a clases magistrales con profesores de todo el mundo, como Italia, Alemania, Austria, Colombia, Costa Rica, México y Canadá. Sin embargo, es importante que mencione que todavía soy estudiante de Bellas Artes y que me quedan dos años para obtener finalmente mi título de esta hermosa carrera. Originaria de la Ciudad de México, Amanda Tovalin es cantante, violinista y compositora mexicana que explora en sus canciones elementos del folclore latinoamericano, el jazz y la música contemporánea. En los últimos años ha enfocado sus estudios en un área de la música que se llama Música creativa, tomando clases como grandes representantes como el violinista de jazz Christian Howes. También tiene un ensamble virtual de violín creativo. También doy talleres musicales enfocados a un área pedagógica llamada “Música creativa”. Con mi proyecto solista “Amanda Tovalin” hago composiciones originales donde canto, toco el violín, la dirección musical y la dirección visual-estética. Por último, tengo un podcast llamado @mujeresycreación y el blog @Marsounds dirigido a músicos independientes que desean mejorar sus grabaciones caseras o hacer un home studio low cost. Como violinista ha participado con grandes proyectos de jazz, pop, y folklore latinoamericano. En el año 2014, decide hacer el EP Amanda Tovalin (Jazz Collective) que resulta bien recibido por la crítica nacional y extranjera. Su segundo disco “Punto de partida” fue nombrado No.1 de “Los mejores discos del 2015” por la revista Sin Embargo MX. Continuando la racha de éxitos, su tercer proyecto “Crónicas”, fue aclamado por los críticos lo que le permitió abrirse paso entre las nuevas generaciones de cancionistas mexicanos y músicos experimentales. Entre sus participaciones destacan sus giras por países como Colombia e India donde participó en el Festival de Jazz de New Delhi además de ganar varias prestigiosas becas para compositoras como la beca ART OMI en Nueva York 2019.

Hello everyone! :-) I believe everyone has a unique and beautiful voice and that there should be no absolute standard of a “perfect” voice. We can all make choices about what we want to sound like, as long as we keep our voice healthy and we are conscious of the options we have with it. My job as a vocal coach is to help you find your own voice and give you the tools to gain confidence and improve your technique, based on what your needs are. The usual structure of the lesson includes a warm up and some vocal exercises for the first 15 minutes, followed by the study of a song of your choice or suggested by me, analysing what you need to improve in it and choosing what kind of stylistic choices to apply on it. My lessons include: Breathing technique Good posture and core support Expansion of range Technique Use of head, mixed and chest voice Vocal style Songwriting skills Music theory I am a vocal coach and a professional singer/songwriter and performer and I have been using my voice professionally for more than 15 years. My education in singing is varied and covers different genres and methods, including Estill Voice Model, MVT (Modern Vocal Technique) and CVT (Complete Vocal Technique). I started studying in Italy with opera singer Angela Bucci and jazz/soul singer and vocal coach Silvia Gollini in Rome. I moved to London in 2013, where I lived for 8 years, performing and expanding my knowledge of singing by studying Estill Voice Model with Charlotte Xerri, and taking lessons with different vocal coaches, including Charlotte Xerri, Sarah Stephenson and musical theatre singers Adam Pettigrew and Claire Greenway. I also have a diploma in Music Theory, Harmony and Sight Reading from A. Casella Conservatory of L’Aquila, Italy and I have studied CVT. I am currently studying to be a certified teacher of MVT. I have also studied classical, jazz and pop piano with Francesca Aloisi for 10 years. I have extensive experience both as a professional teacher for kids and adults in many different genres (pop, jazz, classical and musical theatre), for individuals or groups. My lessons are fun and engaging and they’re tailored to the individuals’ needs. Using a wide range of exercises and techniques we work on a repertoire chosen by the student or myself, aiming to improve confidence, revealing and developing your own voice, working on range, support, style and vocal colours.

That's right, usually we're not used to hear our own singing voice. It happens to non beginners too. Maybe you might find it weird, strange, maybe started to think "is my voice really sounds like this?", "How other people think about my voice?", "I really want to be able to sing like that!", "I think I'm just going to sing when I'm alone?", "How can I improve my singing?" If you ever think about that, that's reasonable and I understand those struggles because I did too. So are you going to let those thoughts sitting in your head for long and do nothing about it? Or you'd like to make a changes for it? Don't worry about how are you going to go through the class, this is the place for you to learn and make as many mistakes as you need and I will be there to guide you.
