Hi, I’m Annie. I’m originally from China, and Mandarin is my native language. Growing up, I used Mandarin in everyday life, so I can help you learn the language in its most natural and authentic form. Now I’m based in North America, and I use English every day as well. This makes me fully bilingual—I’m fluent in both Mandarin and English, which allows me to easily connect with both English speakers and Mandarin speakers.
My professional background has been in coaching and product management. These roles gave me a lot of experience in communication, collaboration, and guiding people to reach their goals. I learned how to listen carefully, explain clearly, and break down complex topics into simple, practical steps. When it comes to teaching Mandarin, these skills are extremely valuable because I can tailor my explanations to your learning style and focus on what you actually need in real conversations.
Learning Mandarin can sometimes feel intimidating—whether it’s the tones, the characters, or the cultural context behind certain expressions. But I believe every challenge can be turned into an opportunity for progress if you have the right guidance. My approach is to make learning interactive and enjoyable. Instead of just memorizing vocabulary or grammar rules, I encourage using the language in real-life scenarios—ordering food at a restaurant, asking for directions, or talking about your daily activities. From there, we can build up to more advanced conversations like workplace discussions or cultural topics.
Because I’ve lived and worked in both China and North America, I understand the cultural differences that English speakers often face when learning Mandarin. I can bridge that gap by explaining not only how to say something, but also why it is said that way and what cultural meaning it carries. This helps learners go beyond textbook knowledge and develop confidence in real-world interactions.
If your goal is to learn Mandarin for travel, work, or personal growth, I’d be happy to support you on your journey. With my bilingual background, professional coaching experience, and passion for cross-cultural communication, I can help you make steady progress while enjoying the process. Learning a language is not just about grammar and vocabulary—it’s about connecting with people and understanding a different way of seeing the world. And that’s exactly what I’d love to share with you.

Hello! My name is Jessy and I'm from China. I'm a CTCSOL-certified teacher with a bachelor’s degree in Literature, majoring in Advertising. I have a wide range of hobbies, including painting, Chinese calligraphy, baking, traveling and reading.
My approach is grounded in real experience:
Patience & Encouragement: As a volunteer teacher in Bali, I taught Chinese to young children. That experience taught me the incredible power of patience, creativity, and encouragement—skills that are just as vital for teaching adults.
Practical Language Skills: In my professional role, I work directly with foreign guests . This has given me a strong, practical command of the Chinese and English used in real-world situations, from business interactions to casual daily conversation. I teach the language you'll actually use.
My lessons are designed to be interactive, supportive, and encouraging.
