I completed A levels in Math and Biology, and scored 1480 on the SAT with a 790 in the math section. Although I got admitted into Elizabeth City State University to study Biology, I realised that my passion was Medicine, which I studied at the University of Uyo. During college, I was encouraged by my colleagues to try teaching since I was very passionate about teaching and motivating students, and now, I have over 3 years of experience. I've prepared students for competitions and exams like IGCSE, GCSE, SAT Math, and SQA Nationals, and I'm mostly good at preparing students for SAT Math (all of them have gotten scores of 700+) and Edexcel IGCSE math(a few of them had a Grade 8). I make learning fun & easy as I break down tough concepts and move at your pace. Every student is unique, and everyone learns differently. So in our first class, we will take some time to evaluate your current level of understanding so that we can create a plan that feels just right for you, as it'll help me know your strengths and weaknesses. Whether you're in high school or college, we'll use your school materials to learn and any other useful resources we can get hold of. I think math is usually seen as being overly complicated or requiring extensive memorization to become proficient in it, but I believe anyone is capable of learning math and there are so many ways to think about math, to begin with. I am a certified math teacher with extensive experience in teaching all math levels and teaching students from a variety of different backgrounds. I excel in helping students with gaps in their math learning as I am able to quickly pinpoint what areas a student needs to go back and learn when they do not understand a specific topic. My methodologies are student-centered and I believe in having the student do as much of the mathematical thinking as possible while I guide them with questions and differentiated instruction when they are stuck. I am patient, love teaching, and am well-versed in all mathematics up to Calculus! I believe all students are capable of doing math, even when they themselves do not think so. With the right guidance and enough time anyone can become a master of the numbers.
