I won the First Prize of the Montreal Symphony Orchestra Competition when I was 17 years old. I am Marc, singing and theatre teacher with 25 years of experience. I studied vocal studies, musical and music theatre. Singers who move you are not necessarily singers with perfect technique: they are the ones who let you get close, who tell you a story. I want to teach you how you can sing in a way that shows your authentic expression, so you can move people with your song. Together we’ll go through a process where you learn to stay close to yourself en tell a story from there. We look at what moves you and what the lyrics mean to you. You’ll learn techniques to connect your story and your emotions to a song. You’ll learn to distinguish different types of songs, for example narrative and lyrical songs. In my lessons I use the technical aspects of singing to support the process: when it’s needed we’ll work on singing technique, breathing technique, diction, different voice techniques and presentation. Because I am not only trained in singing, but also in dance, acting, music theatre and personal development, I combine all disciplines in my teaching. With me you’re also very welcome for coaching and directing in musical, music theatre, cabaret, and even circus theatre. During my travels I worked in several projects, like a peace circus in Israel and Palestine and theatre and music workshops for Syrian refugee children in Jordan. Now I travel with my family and I teach online lessons.

My name is Johari Gardner, and I love music! I have been a musician for over a decade, with 15 years of experience playing drums, 8 years on bass, 5 years on guitar and piano, and I've recently started learning saxophone and trombone. I have played drums and percussion in a few professional settings, as well as at many colleges and universities around the world. I am also a university student, studying to get my Master's in Music Performance. I have performed in professional settings with many notable people, such as David Benoit and Earl Klugh. My specialty is in jazz music, however, I have ample experience in all genres of music. I can read sheet music, and excel in all-things music. I also produce music, and have been making hip-hop, pop, r&b, and afrobeats for 4 years. Below are some notable things I have done. I have been teaching music theory for 5 years and drums for 4. I will begin to teach music production in the near future, as well. If there's one thing that I've learned from teaching, it's that it is very important for a student and teacher to have a strong bond that allows for a student to feel comfortable asking questions. All students have their own way of learning, and one of my primary teaching methods is repeating and rephrasing, so I can appeal to many different learning styles. Students have many different ways of receiving information, and I want to cater to that. Sono una cantante professionista con molti anni di esperienza, sia di palco che di insegnamento. Ho studiato canto moderno all'Accademia di Musica Moderna di Modena, con Michele Luppi. Ho frequentato il Corso di Alta Formazione (ora Master) in Vocologia Artistica, oltre a moltissimi seminari e corsi di aggiornamento, tra cui il Voice To Teach, corso internazionale per insegnanti di canto, con esame finale e inserimento nel registro dedicato. Il mio repertorio è molto vasto e spazia dal rock, al pop, alla dance. La mia formazione come Operatrice Olistica mi permette di rapportarmi con l'allievo considerando tutti i suoi aspetti. L'emotività ha un forte impatto sulla resa di un cantante, quindi per me è importante accompagnare l'allievo non solo con la tecnica vocale ma anche valutando tutto quello che circonda una performance: emotività, postura, presenza scenica, interpretazione, ecc. La mia lezione è strutturata sulle esigenze di ogni allievo, in base al livello di partenza e agli obiettivi che si vogliono raggiungere. Generalmente si dedica la prima parte alle tecniche di riscaldamento vocale. Nella seconda parte si approfondisce la tecnica vocale, con esercizi mirati, per fare in modo che si acquisisca sempre più padronanza della propria voce. La terza parte è dedicata alla preparazione del repertorio più adatto all'allievo, secondo le inclinazioni e i gusti individuali. Nella fase di preparazione accompagno l'allievo con la chitarra, in modo da poter approfondire il brano in ogni sua parte. Non ho un metodo standard valido per tutti, ma strutturo il percorso di apprendimento basandomi su esigenze ed attitudini di ogni allievo, in quanto ognuno è unico.
