Meet Your Social Science Teacher – Sunday Luka Hello and welcome! My name is Sunday Luka, and I am a passionate, dedicated, and friendly teacher from Nigeria, with 5 years of teaching experience. I am currently teaching at Government Secondary School, Kakau, Kaduna State, Nigeria. I have a strong passion for education and a genuine desire to help students discover their potential, build confidence, and achieve their academic goals. My educational background includes a Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE), a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Public Administration, and a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Business Administration. My diverse academic background, combined with my teaching experience, gives me a broad understanding of education, administration, business, and the society in which we live. I believe that education is not just about passing examinations; it is also about developing critical thinking, good character, creativity, and the skills needed to succeed in life. My Teaching Approach My classes are designed to be interactive, engaging, simple, and student-centred. I understand that every student is unique and that students have different learning abilities, strengths, and challenges. That is why I take time to understand each student's needs and adapt my teaching methods to help them learn effectively. I believe that learning should be enjoyable rather than stressful. During my lessons, I encourage students to ask questions, share their ideas, participate in discussions, and express themselves freely without fear of making mistakes. I use real-life examples, practical explanations, discussions, and step-by-step teaching methods to make even difficult topics easier to understand. What Makes My Classes Different? With my five years of teaching experience, I have developed the patience, commitment, and communication skills needed to work with students from different backgrounds and academic levels. How I Organise My Classes I organise my lessons according to the student's learning objectives, academic level, and individual needs. I begin by introducing the topic and identifying what the student already knows. I then explain the lesson in clear, simple language, provide relevant examples, encourage questions, and give exercises to assess understanding. I also use revision, practice questions, assignments, and constructive feedback to help students improve and retain what they have learned.
