Hello, I'm Sandra, a Computer Science teacher with 10+ years experience in teaching - 8 years teaching children in the UK public schools and a private international school in Spain. My experience ranges from teaching basic computational thinking to 7 year olds to more advanced topics at A level and beyond. For GCSE and A-level students I provide teaching materials (presentations) and practice materials (worksheets, past papers, etc). I've taught and marked students following OCR, AQA and Edexcel boards (incl. international students). For me, the most important trait of a teacher (especially online) is patience and the ability to explain difficult concepts with real-life examples. There are many professionals out there, who are great at programming, but may lack teaching experience and the right approach for each learner. My experience with a large range of age groups, nationalities and cultures allows me to connect on a human level with my students and help them overachieve their expectations. Oltre allo svolgimento dei compiti, posso aiutare a organizzare il lavoro, ripassare in vista di verifiche e interrogazioni e sviluppare gradualmente un metodo di studio efficace. L'obiettivo è creare un ambiente tranquillo e positivo, in cui lo studente possa sentirsi libero di fare domande, sbagliare e imparare senza sentirsi sotto pressione. Credo infatti che ogni ragazzo abbia tempi e modalità di apprendimento differenti: per questo cerco di valorizzare i suoi punti di forza e di accompagnarlo con pazienza nelle difficoltà. Le lezioni possono essere organizzate in base alle necessità del momento, alternando spiegazioni, esercizi, ripasso e attività di consolidamento. Il mio obiettivo è aiutare ogni studente a diventare progressivamente più sicuro, organizzato e autonomo nello studio.
