Hello and welcome! I’m Ushna Maryam and I’d love to be your English teacher. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in English Linguistics and Literature where I consistently maintained a strong academic record. But more than just academics and 2 years of teaching experience, my passion lies in using language to connect, inspire and create meaningful learning experiences. Whether you’re looking to improve your conversation skills, prepare for an exam or build confidence in writing and speaking, I’ll design each lesson according to your goals and learning pace. What makes my classes different is my love for storytelling and real-world communication. I’ve led two storytelling-based volunteer programs at a summer camp. These experiences helped me understand how powerful language can be when it’s personal, creative and honest and I bring that energy into every class I teach. I’ve also completed a fellowship with a program funded by Stanford University, where I gained hands-on training in communication, leadership and emotional intelligence. These qualities help me connect deeply with students from different backgrounds and guide them in a way that feels both respectful and motivating. We’ll celebrate progress, work through challenges together and most importantly, enjoy the process of learning English.
