Hi, I am Jen :D I am a British English native and have a 2.1. degree in Japanese language and contemporary society from Oxford Brookes in England and have lived in Japan. I teach Japanese children English online (in Japanese) and I am also a private online Japanese tutor. I have three children myself (4, 8,12) and have worked in education for over 10 years. I have experience in teaching both children and adults in Japan, the UK and online. I have certificates in 120 hour TEFL including exam preparation, business English and teaching young learners. I hold my Cache Level 3 certificate in supporting teaching and learning and have certificates in teaching SEN and understanding Autism. My lessons are interactive and fun. I have written my own course which is for absolute beginners. The lessons are taught over an interactive platform whereby the student can interact with the lesson slides. I wholly believe that by actively engaging in lessons, students learn more effectively. My lessons are fun, again very important for retaining information and not only look at the fundamentals of the Japanese language, but also at its culture and traditions. I am a laid back and fun tutor, I adapt lessons to suit the needs of the student, we play games and have a lot of fun. There is no such thing as a silly question in my classes and mistakes are very welcome, that is the only way we learn! My classes are for adults and children aged 11 and over and are 50minutes long. I am attending a Japanese language school, and I have with me various exercises and methods to learn and consolidate the basics as best as possible ( even for people who have a good level of Japanese, it may be lacking in basic grammar) The lessons will focus on the so-called 基礎文法 (kisobunpō), also known as the basic grammar that challenges both beginners and more experienced students (without having received correct instruction in this regard), but also basic kanj lessons and effective study methods upon request, will never be denied!
