Virgilio
Virgilio Volante (Cassino, 1999) is a pianist, composer, and teacher. He studied with Giovanni Valle, Carlo Negroni, and Silvia Limongelli, graduating with honors and special mention with both the Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Piano from the Conservatories of Frosinone and Milan, and obtaining a Bachelor’s Degree in Composition with honors under the guidance of Maestro Riccardo Santoboni.
He pursued advanced studies at the Accademia Chigiana in Siena, the Pinerolo Academy, and the International Piano Academy of Imola, working with internationally renowned musicians such as Lilya Zilberstein, Pavel Gililov, Boris Petrushansky, Ingrid Fliter, and Igor Roma, as well as attending masterclasses with Enrico Pieranunzi, Bruno Tommaso, Barry Harris, and Ivan Fedele.
He is a prizewinner of numerous national and international competitions, including the UK International Music Competition (First Absolute Prize), the Erik Satie International Music Competition (Platinum Award), and the Franz Liszt Center International Piano Competition.
He has performed in major venues in Italy and abroad, collaborating with institutions such as the Accademia Filarmonica Romana, IUC, Piano City Milano and Napoli, and Atina Jazz.
For many years he has been actively involved in teaching, offering piano and composition lessons at all levels—from beginners and amateurs to professional training—successfully preparing numerous students for exams and Conservatory entrance auditions. Alongside his teaching activity, he maintains an intense career as a pianist, composer, and collaborative pianist. His compositions are published by Valle Giovanni Edizioni Musicali.
